Dr. Julie Monroe grew up in a small town in North Texas. From the young age of four years old, she knew she wanted to become a veterinarian. She attended Texas A&M for her undergraduate studies and graduated from the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. After practicing for two years in the North Texas area, she moved to the Rio Grande Valley and has been practicing at Port Isabel Animal Clinic since 2007. Dr. Monroe’s favorite part about her career is the relationships she has formed with her clients and patients through the years. In her spare time, Dr. Monroe enjoys going to the beach and sailing with her husband and two daughters, a good book, and, of course, Fightin’ Texas Aggie football.

Afterward, she returned to the Rio Grande Valley to give back to the community that had given her so much. She is currently working as an Associate Veterinarian at Port Isabel Animal Clinic and Border Animal Hospital in Weslaco, Texas. She lives in Brownsville, Texas with her husband, son, and three pets. In her spare time, Dr. Phillipp-Gulley enjoys exercising, hunting, fishing, Aggie sports, and traveling. Years at PIAC: 12 years.
I enjoy the people I work with, we are like family here and a great team together. I especially enjoy the pets that come through our doors, from the not so kind dogs or cats that challenge me and my skills to the sweet new pups that just love to love us.
Pet’s Name: Tyson
Years at PIAC: 1 year.
Elias loves to point out all the personality from both pets and clients; seeing how the pets react with joy when they know they will get a treat from me vs. when they see the doctor walk through the door and know something is up.

Ella has been at Port Isabel Animal Clinic for 6 1/2 years as a receptionist.
She really enjoys getting to meet a lot of nice people and their pets, and being able to help them makes her happy.=
